Such theological autobiography is of course not so novel. In many ways it repeats the gestures of Augustine's Confessions in which a "life" is made in its accounting and recollection before God. Augustine's is a life that is explicitly predicated as a life that has deviated and separated from God and its unity exists only in that it can be narrated in the face of God. The (Augustinian) self exists in its narratologic expenditure before God.
